It’s one thing to experience fear but it’s a whole new level of fear when a person in authority tells you that what’s going on can be life threatening.
I assume you have all heard “FEAR stands for false evidence appearing real.”
Hearing a statement from someone in authority can make it more real in our heads then it needs to be.
I’ve feared for my life before, but in that moment I realized the only control I had is what I decided to believe.
I didn’t get to control what happened.
My mind screamed “I’m not ready to die”, “I have so much more to be, do and have”.
I had to decide right then what I could learn from this, how I could make the best of it and what thoughts I would allow to stick around and which I would just let pass.
My point is circumstance can be real, pain is very real and emotions are hard to ignore.
Therefore, you need to decide early on in any situation if you want to stay on the surface and float with the flow or if you are going to dig down deep and let it bury you.
Life continues to happen with or without us.
It’s all about how we choose to participate.
