There is an elusory meaning to the word happiness.
People believe that it comes from the outside in.
I want to share with you a better understanding of the word happy.
Hapi Egyptian Nile God
I’ve looked up versions of the word happy and its origin, and they’re all very fitting but one that I’ve heard that makes complete sense to me originates from Hapi.
Hapi was the flooding god of the Nile, who also deposited fertility into the soil.
With the floods and fertility, the effect was a great abundance of crops.
Hapi is depicted as a hermaphrodite, wearing a ceremonial beard and having a large belly yet also having large breasts.
What I love about this depiction is there is both male and female energy, there’s giving and receiving, and great abundance.
I think this teaches us everything we need to know about reaching happiness.
Balance yourself with both masculine and feminine energy, always give, and don’t worry about your differences.
Celebrate Yourself
I’ve had so many experiences with my clients and myself where we were too busy regretting our mistakes that we forgot to celebrate all of the good choices we made.
I feel like most of us weren’t taught to celebrate that when we were kids, we didn’t brag if we won a game, it was poor sportsmanship.
Expectations were set high for good grades and behavior, and punishment ensued if you did otherwise.
Our parents were doing their best, but it didn’t foster a well-rounded mental game.
Guilt is the pillar holding up this belief.
When you can forgive that behavior, deciding never to do it again you will begin to celebrate everything that makes you feel good.
Know your purpose
How many times have you heard somebody say “I don’t know what my purpose is”?
When they claim that over their lives it’s difficult to see what’s already happening.
They believe there’s a certain trade they’re supposed to work in, find a passion to pursue, or even get married and have kids.
What if your purpose is to live?
Encountering each person you meet along the way as if they are you.
Treating them as you want to be treated, helping when they are in need, being a friend.
Each person you meet is a true reflection of what needs to be heard by your soul or healed within it.
The purpose is to heal your soul for the expansion of your consciousness.
How you go about that is up to you. Share with others, love others and you will find peace and true happiness.
Love ❤,
Missy
